Taylor Belanger
Co-Chair and President
Taylor is a 4th year Bachelor of Management student specializing in Finance from Vernon, British Columbia. He is passionate about finance and investments as well as making more opportunities and resources available to other finance students. He recently completed an internship with BMO Bank of Montreal as a Financial Services Manager while also taking the Canadian Securities Course. He plans on completing the Chartered Financial Analyst program so that he can have a successful career as an Investment Advisor or Investment Counsellor.
With Taylor's leadership skills and strong work ethic he will lead the UBC PMG into a new chapter in its new life under the MSA banner, while building a strong foundation that will thrive for years.
Jarik Wang
Co-Chair and Vice President
Jarik is a 4th year Bachelor of Management student from Xi'an, China, specializing in Accounting and minoring in Economics. He is passionate about accounting, finance, and portfolio management, and has been a member of UBCPMG since 2015. He is currently a Peer Mentor for the Student Experience Office of UBC Okanagan, and is serving as VP of Finance for the South East Asian Club of UBC Okanagan, a student association for South East Asian students. He plans to obtain both the CPA and CFA charters later in his career.
With Jarik's experience from being with the UBC PMG for two years and his passion for finance and networking, he will help create great experiences for everyone in the PMG. He will be working this year as the club's VP of Marketing & Finance, with the goal of getting more students involved with UBCPMG, planning great networking events, and managing the club's finances while conducting careful use of the budget.
David Minaei
Portfolio Manager
David is a graduating business management student, with a minor in economics, at the University of British Columbia Okanagan. He is originally Russian and grew up in Dubai before moving to Canada for higher education. David developed an interest in investing at an early age when he started investing his own money and realised the opportunities in the financial market. Recently, he gained an interest in option strategies to hedge against risk in the market. David has shown great enthusiasm throughout our meetings and has contributed to educating club members on fundamental and technical analysis. He is currently enrolled in the CFA level 1 exam that takes place in December.

Lucas Isola
Portfolio Manager
A graduating business management student at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus. Lucas has a passion for the world of finance, wealth management, and helping fellow Canadians achieve their financial goals. He has learned how to be a crucial part of any team from years of experience in various professional environments and participation in varsity level sports. Dedication to his studies and extracurricular activities continue to accelerate his educational progress and financial competency. Lucas is motivated to continue improving and developing while gaining real-world experience. He is currently enrolled in the Canadian Securities Course and expected to complete it before he graduates in April.
James Newhouse
Portfolio Manager
James is a graduating Business Management student, specialising in finance and minoring in economics. He quickly developed a passion in finance as he began investing his money at a young age. James is currently in the process of becoming a certified financial analyst by completing the Certified Financial Analyst exams and the Canadian Security Course exam. James has shown great passion and leadership skills by volunteering for the financial sector head position, as well as analysing and presenting stocks to contribute to the current portfolio. Short term future goals include working as an investment analyst, and long-term goals include generating and maintaining enough capital to begin to help others achieve their financial and personal goals.
Puru Pradhan
Co-Chair
Puru is a 3rd year Bachelor of Management student specializing in Finance and minoring in Economics from Bhopal, India. Puru has been continuously involved in the local community and always looks for the betterment of it in one way or another. He aspires to mix his passion in finance with his responsibility towards the Earth, eventually changing the world using finance. He is currently working at Sheetal Samuh, a real-estate firm in India, as an On-Site Director of Operations and also is the VP of Finance & Outreach for Enactus UBC Okanagan. He plans on getting his CFA level 1 in 2019 and to work as an Investment Analyst, after which he aims to start his own Investment Bank.
With Puru's analytical skills and practical knowledge, he will be working as the VP of Investment Operations and will make sure that the portfolio is managed successfully and that PMG members get the most out of the club.
